Water Softeners
Whether you require a water softeners for a Steam Boiler pre-treatment application or any hard water application BioChem Water can provide you with a solution.
Water Softeners -We also provide aftermarket servicing of Water Softeners including cleaning of ion exchange resin.
Ion exchange resin attracts particulate present in town water and bore water which eventually leads to performance decline however a part of our service includes resin cleaning with our RC28 Resin Cleaner.
Calcium and magnesium carbonates tend to precipitate out as hard deposits to the surfaces as the water temperature increases, and therefore affects contact surfaces, this is principally caused by thermal decomposition of bi-carbonate ions at elevated temperature.
The resulting build-up of scale can restrict heat exchange/fouling and in-turn increase energy costs as calcium and magnesium are thermal insulators, the deposits act as an insulation that impairs the flow of heat into water therefore reducing the heating efficiency and allowing the components to overheat that can lead to stress cracking and expensive downtime.
Implementation of water softening consists of a chemistry process of exchange of calcium, magnesium, and certain other metal cations in water.
The resulting soft water is more compatible with process water and is achieved using ion-exchange resins.
